Sorry for the huge full-view - it was necessary to show the details (which the scanner didn't pick up very well, but never mind) . The real painting is on paper which is slightly bigger than A4 (between A4 and A3).

Done completely in watercolours over about 4-5 hours, while catching up on the episodes of Heroes, Holby City and Kath and Kim that I missed while I was away. The white areas are more detailed than the scan shows, because my scanner is pretty rubbish >.<

The background is just a simple wash using a mixture of brown and yellow ochre . I wanted something that wasn't too dark or too bright, because it would have overpowered the dog. This colour works nicely, I think .

Reference picture was from a Slovakian dog magazine, although the markings aren't exact.
